In this show, David Hunt’s special guest is actor, performer, singer, voice artist and celebrant, John O’Hara.
Affectionately known as ‘Australia’s John O’Hara’, John is an in-demand actor, singer and radio host. John is currently playing Ned Schneebly in the original Australian production of School of Rock. His brand new cabaret #VAL – A camp-fire kiki with mother continues to wow audiences Australia wide.
Professionally, John has worked extensively across Australia and abroad. Highlights include Hair, Shout!, Eureka, Leader Of The Pack, High Society, Oklahoma!, Dusty, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Rocky Horror Show, Cats, The Boy From Oz, Rock of Ages, Singin’ In The Rain, Elegies, Grease, Legally Blonde the tenth-anniversary tour of Wicked, Stephen Sondheim’s Company and Songs For A New World. John played Rodney in the new all Australian re-staging of Dusty for The Production Company in Melbourne, Bernadette in Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert throughout Europe in 2017 and recently starred in Songs From An Unmade Bed as part of American Song Cycle: A Double Bill.
John’s one-man show Dedications premiered to critical acclaim at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival curated in 2015 by Barry Humphries and has since toured Australia nationally. Both were commissioned by The Perth Theatre Trust, A Very Merry Christmas Cabaret and #VALplayed to sold-out houses and rave reviews in 2015/18 respectively. John is a featured vocalist for the internationally renowned group Rock Rhapsody.
John is a regular voice on radio in Melbourne at Joy 94.9 and provides the male voice to the vocal warm-up app Warm Me Up available through iTunes.
